Bintan Eco Farm
The eco-farm is a 17 hectares haven of greenery where fruits are planted and fish are reared organically. The eco farm tour will give visitors, especially urban dwellers, the opportunity to embark on a 1.5 – 2 hour journey of discovery on Nature’s eco-cycle and the mechanics around the eco farm.
Bintan Resorts has also partnered with Creative Kids to come up with an experiential learning programme specially designed for secondary school students. The programme content is in line with Singapore’s MOE syllabus.
Students can benefit from going to an actual farm – able to relate better on what they learnt in school with the methods of sustainable farming used at the eco farm, be exposed to different types of vegetables and fruits, have hands-on planting or harvesting of seasonal crops, and learn how to make a new dish such as ‘rojak’. Other optional activities include barbecuing corn (freshly harvested!) and even cat-fish feeding. Programme and activities can be tailored-made depending on each school’s objectives.
Also, Bintan Resorts will be giving out a complimentary eco farm booklet, designed and created by Creative Kids, to each student who comes for the eco Farm learning journey programme. This is aimed to be a companion guide for students during the programme and serves as a useful take-home which they can refer to.
Some of the schools who have previously attended the eco Farm programme include St Joseph’s Institution, German European School, Holy Innocents High School and Ngee Ann Secondary School.
