While pushing your limits, these expeditions allow you to have an opportunity to see Bintan and its surrounding from a much different perspective.  And the best part about this is that you can customize your expeditions based on what you would like to do and how much time you wish to allocate for it.

GBS-riabintan RB3 9. Golf_Hole #1 Ian Baker Finch Course 38

We have four beautiful championship courses designed by golf legends Ian Baker-Finch, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Gary Player. The courses feature undulating fairways that meander through the thick forests and wetlands, scenic coconut groves and foliage-framed greens. One can agree that it is indeed a wonderful feeling to play without aeroplanes roaring overhead or crowds that hold up play. Perhaps the only distractions would be the lush rainforest lining the fairway, or the achingly beautiful sky-and-ocean backdrop for a hole or tee box.

If this is your first time playing at Bintan Resorts, we recommend trying out the courses at Ria Bintan. Ria Bintan has numerous awards and accolades under its belt.

Mangrove Day Tour

There are about 70 mangrove species in the world today, some of which are critically endangered. With the continuing threat from the rise in sea levels and coastal developments, mangroves may vanish totally in 100 years. Experts estimate that on a global basis, these tidal wetland ecosystems provide at least US$1.6 billion (S$2.2 billion) worth of services each year, such as protecting the coastline from erosion, improving water quality, and providing habitats for commercial fish species.

The one and a half hour eco tour takes you on a back-to-nature encounter with Bintan island’s rich mangrove forests. As you journey through the quiet waterways of Sebung River, you’d enjoy the sights and serenity around you. If you are lucky, you might even encounter macaque and silver leaf monkeys, monitor lizards, snakes and other exotic wildlife!

During your Mangrove Discovery Tour, when the river meanders south, you’ll catch a glimpse of the orang laut (sea gypsies) and kelongs (over-the-water fishing houses built on stilts) of the river folk. Also look out for the traditional charcoal kiln, and static fishing traps (bubus) that fishermen use.

Eco Farm

The eco-farm is a 17 hectares haven of greenery where fruits are planted and fish are reared organically. The eco farm tour will give visitors, especially urban dwellers, the opportunity to embark on a 1.5 – 2 hour journey of discovery on Nature’s eco-cycle and the mechanics around the eco farm.

Get a chance to interact with farmers, understand how our sustainable eco farm operates, and learn the types of vegetables and fruits grown here. You may even request the full farmer’s experience too – harvesting and planting seasonal crops here!

Lagoi Beach

Lagoi Beach is a public beach newly opened last year and is located at the heart of Bintan Resorts. It is just behind Swiss-Belhotel Lagoi Bay hotel and Plaza Lagoi. One can enjoy a stroll at the beach and even enjoy water sports such as jetski and kayaking.
