Bintan shines with the sun, high spirits, and exceptional racing
Congratulations to all finishers of the 2019 Triathlon.
This year, the event is moving back to where it was born 15 years ago, at the welcoming Bintan Lagoon Resort. With the new venue comes a new race course; the highlight of the new course will be the very scenic run course taking in the hotel’s world-renowned Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course with its stunning sea views.
The Bintan Triathlon 2019 welcomed an auspicious new era of the event, with first-time champions, intense competition, and plenty of smiling faces. Fireworks happened on and off the racecourse, with close finishes in Saturday’s Men’s Sprint and Women’s Olympic distance races. Big congratulations to April Rice and Colin O’Shea, our 2019 Bintan Triathlon victors who join a legendary hall of fame.
Sunday gave the legends of tomorrow a chance to shine, with the Kids and Youth dominating the course and proving the sport has a bright future. The high-quality racing, along with numerous side activities such as the sunset soccer, Kids Club, Beach Dinner Party, and yoga sessions means it has been a true multi-sport festival of fun for the whole family.
