Hidden along the long stretch of Trikora Coast lies an unlikely and unique dining spot – a traditional Italian family-run pizzeria, Pizza Casa Italia, serving pizza fresh from a wood-fired oven flown in from Italy. The restaurant is owned by an Italian couple who fell in love with Bintan during their honeymoon in 1986 and made it their lifetime dream to come back and settle down with a pizzeria by the beach.
Choose from a variety of local-infused flavours such as Pizza Telur (eggs), Pizza Cabe (chilli), Pizza Sarden (sardines), Pizza Sosis (sausage), Pizza Jagung (corn) and Pizza Cornet (corned beef), or traditional toppings such as mushroom, chicken and cheese.
The thin-crusted, made to order pizzas come at an affordable price and is recommended to go with their kopi susu (milk coffee). Offering a slice of Italy in tropical Bintan Island, it is not surprising to meet locals and tourists at the restaurant for a pizza or two. Takeaways are available too, but most will choose to dine in and enjoy the freshly baked goodness with an unbeatable sea view.
This charming rustic pizzeria is located right on a beautiful beach. Step over for a refreshing dip before or after your meal. There are on-site shower facilities available at just Rp 2.000,-.
