Travel Visa

Table of Contents

All foreign travelers to Indonesia must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage.

Visa Policy

  • Effective Date: 09 January 2024.
  • Based on Circular Letter M.HH-02.GR.01.06 Year 2024 Ministry of Law and Human Rights Republic of Indonesia Directorate General of Immigration – (Dated on 09 January 2024)
  • This policy will be updated accordingly to any changes in the applicable regulations.

Basic Requirements

  • Passport validity at least 6 months.
  • Return or One-Way ticket to continue traveling to another country.

Free Visa for Singapore Permanent Resident Policy

  • Permanent Resident Status: Travelers must hold Permanent Resident status in Singapore.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Only PRs with a blue NRIC are eligible, with exclusions for certain nationalities subject to calling visa requirements.
  • Visitor Stay Permit: The entry stamp issued during immigration checks. Eligible travelers will receive a Visitor Stay Permit for up to four (4) days, which cannot be extended or converted to another status.

*Reminder: Eligible travelers must bring their Blue NRIC when visiting Bintan Resorts.

7-Day Visa on Arrival for Riau Islands Visitors

Riau Islands 7-Day VOA Policy

  • A new 7-day Visa on Arrival (VOA) is now available for visitors to the Riau Islands at a cost of IDR 250,000. This visa is only available for purchase offline.
  • Travelers to Bintan Resorts can pay for the Visa on Arrival (VOA) only at Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal.
  • This visa facilitates entry for tourism and business purposes in designated areas. The policy is effective from December 17, 2024.

NEW UPDATE

Effective since December 17, 2024, a new 7-Day Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available for international visitors traveling to the Riau Islands. This visa, priced at IDR 250,000, permits entry for tourism and business within specific areas of the Riau Islands. Currently, citizens of 86 countries can apply for this 7-day VOA. Bintan Resorts has also announced the availability of this 7-Day Visa on Arrival starting December 24, 2025, as indicated on its website and Instagram.

Please note that entry and exit with the 7-Day VOA for the Riau Islands are restricted to designated ports within the Riau Islands, including the Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) Ferry Terminal. This visa cannot be used to enter or leave Indonesia through other regions.

The 7-Day VOA must be purchased offline upon arrival. Visitors to Bintan Resorts must obtain this visa exclusively at the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Counter situated at the BBT Ferry Terminal. Payment must be made in Indonesian Rupiah (cash only). Currency exchange services are available at the terminal for travelers who need to convert their currency. It is essential to obtain the visa before proceeding to the immigration counter for passport clearance and customs processing.

For visitors planning to stay longer than 7 days, the standard Visa on Arrival (VOA) is still available. The *standard VOA is valid for a maximum of 30 days at a cost of IDR 500,000 per person* and can be extended once for an additional 30 days at a further cost of IDR 500,000 per person.
