On Saturday, August 24th, Bintan Resorts Management extended a warm welcome to the Singapore Women’s Triathlon Club (SWTC) as they arrived on Bintan Island for an intensive triathlon bootcamp. The Chief Operating Officer of Bintan Resorts Cakrawala, Mr. Abdul Wahab, personally greeted the group of 35 dedicated triathletes at the Bandar Bintan Telani Ferry Terminal. This visit marked a pivotal moment in the athletes’ preparation for their upcoming competition. Following a seamless journey through Immigration and Customs, the team was whisked away to Cassia Bintan, where they would immerse themselves in focused training and recovery sessions.
The Singapore Women’s Triathlon Club is the only women-centric triathlon club in Singapore, passionately dedicated to empowering women through triathlons and endurance sports. Offering a supportive and social environment, the club caters to women of all experience levels—from beginners to seasoned athletes. With over 300 members, SWTC is a vibrant community that includes local and international women balancing their professional and personal lives. The club provides an invaluable platform for women to connect, share their passion for triathlons, and find like-minded training partners.
During their stay at Cassia Bintan, the triathletes engaged in a rigorous training schedule designed to hone their skills and endurance. The program included swimming sessions in the pristine waters of Cassia Beach, along with cycling and running drills tailored to their upcoming competitions. Complementing their physical training, the athletes also prioritized recovery through yoga, massages, and spa treatments, ensuring they remained both physically and mentally prepared for the challenges ahead. This holistic approach to training underscores the club’s commitment to a balanced and well-rounded preparation strategy.
In the evening, Bintan Resorts Management hosted a welcome dinner at the scenic Bar7 Rooftop Bar & Grill, located at the Grand Lagoi Hotel. This event, set against the backdrop of Bintan’s stunning landscape, was organized to express gratitude for the club’s visit and to gather their feedback on Bintan Resorts as a potential venue for future international events. Yvonne Teo, a representative of SWTC, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Bintan Resorts Management. She also provided insights into their visit’s objectives and outlined the club’s cycling program scheduled for the following day. Mr. Abdul Wahab emphasized Bintan Resorts’ dedication to creating memorable experiences for visitors, with the hope that they would leave with a desire to return.
One of the participants, Christina Tubb, shared her thoughts on Bintan as a premier cycling destination. She praised the local cuisine, describing it as “amazing,” and highlighted the quick and efficient clearance at immigration and customs, which set the tone for a smooth and enjoyable visit. Christina also commended the swimming conditions, noting that the water was flat, clean, and ideal for training.
